Immunization
Immunization is the process whereby a person is made immune or resistant to an infectious disease, typically by the administration of a vaccine. Vaccines stimulate the body's own immune system to protect the person against subsequent infection or disease.
Why is immunzation important?
-It can save your child's life by providing early protection from the diseases.
-Once vaccinated against a disease the body fights the disease better.
-It is safe and effective.
-It can protect future generations by eliminating diseases.
Immunization in Nepal:
Government has given highest priorty to immunization in Nepal. National Immunization Program under Child Health Division of Deapartment of Health Service is working to maximize the service delivery and minimize the disease outbreaks. National Immunization Program provides vaccines for 7 diseases. The schedule for the vaccinations are given below:
