On 18th July, 2014, Amakomaya received SPECIAL MENTION award in mBillionth award 2014. The mBillionth award is an annual award ceremony organized by Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) not only to recognize and honor the best practices but also to nurture, scale up and stimulate development of innovative mobile ideas, applications and services. Among various award categories, Amakomaya android apps received the SPECIAL MENTION awards in mhealth. There were 11 participating apps in m-Health category from various South Asian countries.

mBillionth is a prestigious award ceremony that analyses and provides platform to innovative mobile and telecom services in 8 South Asian countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It was the 5th year of mBillionth award in 2014 since it first started recognizing social development through mobile.

In the award ceremony, there were three applications participating from Nepal (namely Labour Permit Status via SMS service, Picovico and Amakomaya). While Amakomaya received special mention award under m-Health, another app Labour Permit Status via SMS service (DoFE, Nepal) was the winning app in m-Governance category. It is a matter of pride for winning apps from Nepal to hold the award in an international platform.
