Defination
-Endometriosis is a disease condition in which there is presence of endometrial tissue both glands and stroma outside the uterus.
-The tissue is confirmed to be endometrial as it responds to hormones in cyclic manner.

Genitic factor -risk becomes 7 times more if it is present in first degree relatives

Managment
for asymptomatic cases, close observation should be done for 6-8 month & investigation for infertility
for symptomatic cases,there is medical as well as surgical managment

combined oral contraceptives
oral progesterone
Dannazole
surgical management
laporotomy
dissection & excision of cyst
if the women has complete her family salpingo oophorectomy or hysterectomy can be also done
