Amakomaya Digital Health Ecosystem
Amakomaya is a digital health technology company. What we build is not a single application but an ecosystem: products people use, the information systems behind them, the interoperability layer that connects them, and the knowledge base that keeps the engineering honest.
The layers
1. Products and digital experiences
Web and mobile products across maternal, child and family health, counselling services, and health service navigation. See Products for the current portfolio.
2. Health information systems
Data capture, aggregation, reporting and analytics — see the HMIS platform and the eRecord documentation.
3. Healthcare interoperability
An HL7 FHIR-based exchange layer that lets separately built systems share structured health data, including the ongoing FHIR v6 upgrade. See the FHIR platform.
4. Standards, governance and security
Terminology, data governance, and an information security management system aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 — with ISO 27799 for health-specific controls.
5. Knowledge
The Awesome Health knowledge base and the Global Public Goods notes document the standards, platforms and tools this ecosystem is built on.
Health domains
Maternal and child health is one of the company's key health domains, and the one Amakomaya started from — pregnancy education, antenatal care support and counselling. The same platform layers now also carry facility reporting, service navigation and public health data work.
