HMIS Report Generator

Aggregates facility-level data and generates standardized HMIS reports for national reporting, analysis and decision-making.

Why it exists

In most facilities the monthly report is compiled separately from the work it describes — copied from registers, retyped, reconciled under deadline. That is where errors enter, and it is why reporting feels like an extra job rather than a by-product of service delivery.

The report generator closes that gap: data recorded during service delivery is aggregated into the reporting forms, validated, and produced for the period and organisation unit that needs it.

What it does

Aggregation from facility data

Facility-level records are aggregated into the reporting forms used for routine national reporting, so the report follows from the work rather than being retyped.

Standardized report formats

Reports are produced in the formats expected by national reporting, keeping definitions consistent between facilities and periods.

Validation before submission

Consistency and completeness checks run before a report is confirmed, so problems are found while they can still be fixed at the source.

Period-aware generation

Reports are generated per reporting period and organisation unit, with the reporting calendar built in.

Exports and onward exchange

Generated output can be exported for submission and, where an exchange layer is in place, shared over standards-based interfaces.

Access control and audit

Report generation and confirmation are scoped to a user's organisation unit and recorded, in line with our information security practices.

How it fits the platform

The report generator sits on top of the health information systems layer of Amakomaya's platform. Data capture and aggregation are described in the HMIS platform documentation; where reports or their underlying data need to move between systems, that happens over the FHIR interoperability layer.

For the wider picture, see Amakomaya's technology and interoperability.
